May 2, 2022 This week in literacy, we will… Learn that a noun names a person, place, thing, or idea. Learn that proper nouns name specific people, places, and things. Proper nouns are always capitalized Learn that the vowel combination -igh has the long i sound, as in high and night Read a book titled, Animal Surprises, by Nicole Walker. We will notice and talk about what is important in the text and use nonfiction text features to gain more information. We will also read words with long vowel sounds with silent e, and use context to read and understand unfamiliar words.
