Read Science and Nature by Nancy Geldermann. We will use labels and captions to understand words in text. We will also make predictions based on information from pictures
Learn that the table of contents lists the important topics in a nonfiction book
Learn that the author uses headings to organize information and tell the reader what the part is about
Participate in Heggerty Phonemic Awareness Lessons
Read nonfiction books titled, What if you had Animal Teeth, by Sandra Markle, Best Foot Forward, by Ingo Arndt, and Surprising Sharks, by Nicola Davies
In Writing this week, we will…
Practice spelling domain-specific words
Set writing goals to make our writing better
Edit our work by including end marks, capital letters, and other punctuation marks
Create a Table of Contents
In math this week, we will…
- Recognize and extend number patterns
- Count to 120, starting with any number less than 120, including 0 or 1
- Read numerals to 120
- Count by 5s and 10s to 100
- Mentally find the number that is 10 more or 10 less than a given 2-digit number, without counting, and explain the reasoning used
This week during our Social Studies time we will be starting a unit on our Country.
